Centre assures renewable energy sector stakeholders of early resolution of regulatory issues

The Ministry of Power and New and Renewable Energy has assured renewable energy sector stakeholders that it is working to resolve regulatory issues at the earliest. This assurance was given at a meeting between the Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh, and renewable energy sector stakeholders on October 20, 2023. Some of the key regulatory issues discussed at the meeting included: Dual connectivity: Renewable energy developers have been demanding dual connectivity, which will allow them to sell their power to multiple buyers. The Center has assured stakeholders that it is working on a framework for dual connectivity. Contractual conditions: Renewable energy developers have also raised concerns about certain contractual conditions, such as the requirement to pay liquidated damages for delays in commissioning projects.
