Essar Oilfields wins drilling contract from GAIL

MUMBAI: Essar Oilfields Services India Ltd announced on Wednesday that it has won a contract worth Rs 28 crore from state-run gas utility   India to drill three firm and two optional wells in the Cambay Basin in Gujarat. Drilling for the project is expected to commence in April-May 2018, Essar said in a release here. "Essar Oilfields Services India Ltd (EOSIL) today (Wednesday) ... has been awarded a Rs 28-crore contract by Gas Authority of India Ltd (Wednesday) ... has been awarded a Rs 28-crore contract by Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) to drill three firm plus two optional wells in Gujarat's Cambay Basin," it said.

New Delhi: Under the electoral bonds sale scheme, the sale of first batch of bonds will kick-off from March 1-10 at designated branches of State Bank of India (SBI), the finance ministry said on Thursday. The government had notified the Electoral Bond Scheme on January 2 this year. As per provisions of the scheme, a person, who is a citizen of India or an entity incorporated / established in India can purchase electoral bonds. The electoral bonds are being pitched as an alternative to cash donations made to political parties and bring transparency in political funding. New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress on Thursday blamed each other for the Rs11,400 crore fraud case involving the Punjab National Bank (PNB) even as the latter called the scam’s main accused Nirav Modi as “Chhota Modi” sparking condemnation from the ruling party. Billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi is the main accused in the Rs11,400 crore PNB fraud. The rival parties also traded allegations over a picture of Nirav Modi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a business delegation accompanying him to Davos at the World Economic Forum meet last month.Nirav Modi, who holds an Indian passport, left India on January 1, while his brother Nishal, a Belgian citizen, also left the country on same day. Interested and eligible candidates can apply on the official careers website of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) – careers.bhel.in. 3 PSU non-life insurance cos to meet on Feb 16 on merger

The three public sector general insurance companies will be meeting on February 16 to deliberate on the proposed merger plan, a top official of United India Insurance said. As part of divestment of public sector entities, the government has proposed in the Budget to merge National Insurance Company, United India Insurance and Oriental Insurance Company into one and subsequently list the new entity on stock exchanges. "All the three public sector general insurance companies are meeting on the 16th of this month for discussions on Budget pronouncements," United India Insurance chairman and managing director M N Sarma said here today on the sidelines of Assocham organised health insurance summit.
